Water & Chemicals

A 2012 study estimates that up to 20 percent of all industrial water pollution is from the dyeing and finishing of textiles.

So we have asked all of our suppliers and manufacturers to sign our Code of Conduct in 2022, which we are in the process of preparing, and guarantee that they follow our guidelines on responsible use of water and chemical management.

Water

The use of freshwater is an inevitable price to pay in the fashion industry. Almost all stages of the production of clothing and accessories uses freshwater - the production of raw materials, the dyeing and finishing of fabrics, etc.

At Alli Blair New York we choose our fabrics that have lesser impact on water consumption and choose to work with suppliers that have implemented technologies to reduce their impact.

Chemicals

We restrict the use of any hazardous chemicals in our supply chain. We also ensure that our suppliers comply with the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC), which monitors restricted substances list to ensure that none of the illegalls banned chemicals or potentially harmful chemicals are used in the production of our clothing or accessories.

All of our suppliers also share in our commitment to protect our planet from harmful chemicals and are independently certified by third-party certifications that also have strict guidelines about the use of toxic chemicals like GOTS, GRS and OEKO-TEX®.
